Character

Essentially that perpetual cycle: ‘ this human is a character, this character is a human..’.

All throughout my perception of existence and in my occasional moments of going woah , this is all me , I am experiencing all experience that is known and that which is unknown is known for it is I who perceives it.

And in those generalized experiences, the conveyance of the specific individual fascinates me.

And how we , as humans , desire characters.

A trace of the z axis but a definite opaque presentation of the x and y axis. The apparent view that this is three dimensional but it can be easily graphed into set coordinates in something we view as limited space. This can be equated to an easier term. Traits. What I think of as traits.

Like how we all describe those we want to find and deem as attractive: ‘intelligent ( though I think we don’t necessarily define that intelligence ourselves) , ‘kind’ , ‘sweet’ , ‘strong’.

Characters require no further elaboration and definition. They possess attractive ‘universal’ traits in that :

a) the traits are present in our general humanness and aid perhaps in the propagation of health and growth in the endless unthinking goalless expansion of our species.

b) the traits are selective enough to be recognizable in establishing , in our perception’s categorization of determinants that affect our self interest, a distinct individual identity for the other person

c) the traits are therefore , not difficult or necessary to define. They can be condensed into one word , used in simple communication and are easy to visualize and comprehend without any further categorical thinking.

d) the traits can evoke feelings produced by a sense of reward.

Humans and their variations are too risky. And one of the things that make us multifaceted is our desire to be simplified for others who possess the same desire and therefore perpetuate the cycle.

Multifaceted-ness emerges from the facet of having the aim of only one surface.

With that in mind , the idea of the narrative where the individual or group has control over the course of events that they themselves conceive , these traits manifest in the humans that constitute the development of usually exaggerated human events , in this narrative.

Thusly from the progression of myth where I think there was a distinct recognition to not associate one’s self with the character , a clear symbol to the creation of the three part story with characters who were designed to invoke that tracing of the z axis , humans look for character and using them as reference compare them to humans.

We literally even do it with serial killers , it’s fascinating.
